Koons Evangelistic Ministry is all about teaching pastors and churches about the King James Bible, and refuting Calvinism and Arminianism. It is also about getting good reference material into the hands of Christians, so they might be edified.
Dr. Jacob “Jack” Koons was born in 1960 in the farmland of Pennsylvania. Jack was placed in foster care as an infant in the home of David and Mildred Shelly, where he learned about discipline, and a hard work ethic. In 1978 he joined the Marines, where he served his country for 8 years. During his time in the Marines, he met Bro. and Mrs. B.J. Rymer, missionaries to the military, and Bro. Rymer led him to the saving knowledge of Christ. In 1985, while serving as a Drill Instructor, and Physical Training Instructor, and attending Lighthouse Baptist Church in La Mesa, CA, he surrendered to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. After leaving the Marines in September of 1986, he began to attend Bible college in preparation for the ministry. Upon graduation, he was ordained in 1992 at Oceanside Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. Danny Harvey. Dr. Koons has served in churches across America, and has been teaching, and writing Bible lessons for the past 30 years. He is now “retired”, and continues to study, and write Bible lessons. He currently serves as an Evangelist, promoting the King James Bible, and refuting Calvinism, and Arminianism. He and his wife Barb reside in Frost, TX, and are members of Bible Baptist Church in Hillsboro, TX, under the leadership of Pastor Paul Shearin.
Barb is also a retired RN (of 46 years), and a breast cancer survivor. She makes herself available to help women going through both breast cancer, as well as other health issues, where an understanding heart, and listening ear are appreciated.
